BibLi-Awit is a biblical-liturgical songwriting contest organized with the aim of encouraging songwriters to write and compose songs for Eucharistic celebrations, with lyrics chiefly drawn from Holy Scriptures and liturgical sources. The contest is organized by the Cebu Archdiocesan Commissions on Biblical Apostolate, Liturgy and Worship, and on Social Communications, in partnership with Radio Fuerza 1215 and Power 89.1 FM. It is the intent that through the accomplished songs of this contest, liturgical celebrations may have new songs to offer to the Lord. The contest is open to all song writers all over the Philippines but lyrics must be in the Cebuano language since the songs are intended for Eucharistic celebrations in the Archdiocese of Cebu.
The contest will be launched on the 25th of June, Saturday, at the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (Capitol) Parish, Escario St. Deadline of submission of entries is on the 15th of August 2016. All interested participants are encouraged to attend the launching to know more about the contest.
